Abstract: |
Attempts were made to identify pest problems of tomato from seedlings to harvesting stage of tomato, and to develop IPM package. Different formulations of bio-fertilizers and bio- pesticides were evaluated. Combined effect of bio-fertilizers and bio-pesticides on fresh yield of tomato var. Srijana was significantly high as compared to rest of the treatments. Some of the practices adopted include mulching, selection of resistant variety (against wilt) as a scion and grafting resistant rootstock (against root knot nematode), seed treatment with microbial consortium, raise seedlings in poly bags, use of solarized soil, bio-fertilizers, bio-pesticides- amended farm yard manure. Regular monitoring and scouting of major pests were carried out using pheromones and traps for need-based control decision using economic threshold level (ETL). |
