Abstract: |
Data recorded at the Livestock Research Farm of Regional Agricultural Research Station, Lumle from 2001 to 2009 were analyzed using the statistical package Harvey (1990) with the objective to identify the best compatible genotypes of rabbit in terms of productive and reproductive performances considering non-genetic factors. The litter size at birth, weaning and twelfth week was significantly (p<0.001) affected by the year of kindling and breed. Similarly, the litter weight at birth (LWB), weaning and twelfth week was significantly (p<0.001) affected by the year of kindling and breed. Analysis also showed that individual weight at birth was significantly (p<0.001) affected by the year of kindling and breed. Accordingly, individual weight at weaning (IWW) was found insignificant, but significantly (p<0.001) affected by the breed. Individual weight at twelfth week (IWT) was found significantly (p<0.001) affected by year of kindling, whereas, individual weight at twelfth week (IWT) was found insignificant by the breed. Gestation length (GL) was significantly affected by year and breed (p<0.001). The overall least square mean and standard error for gestation length was 30.74 ± 0.05 days. |
