Abstract: |
Drought is one of the major constraints to rice production in rainfed areas in the country. In the context of changing climate, increasing irrigation is generally not a viable option for extenuating drought problems in rainfed rice-growing systems. Participatory varietal selection (PVS) trials were carried out to identify drought tolerant rice varieties and distribute their quality seed among farmers to increase rice production in rainfed areas. The statistical analysis showed highly significant differences in grain yield at Sahorwa of Mahottari district and at NRRP in Hardinath in 2009………………….. |
