There is tremendous scope for commercial agricultural production to enter into the international market. Among various agricultural components horticultural crops are the important ones for commercial prodution. Poor transportation facilities and poor infra-sturcture. lack of know-how, higher cost of production. poor linkage to the international market etc. are the major constraints. Suitable pocket areas for the production of fruits, vegetables and other high value commodities have been identified and listed. Some of the suggestions and guidleines are described in this paper so that commercial production of agriculwre can be brought into practice.
