Languages : English (eng) Abstract: Verification and demonstration activities on quality improvement methods of farm yard manure (FYM) were conducted in different agro-ecolgical zones of the western hills of Nepal during 2003-2007. FYM samples prepared from different methods were collected for nutrient content (N%, P% and K%) from farmers field. Nitrogen content were found 2.08 percent in urine soaked FYM as against 1.56 percent in farmers' practice, EM treated FYM 2.05 percent as against in 1.62 percent farmers' practice, FYM covered with black polythene sheet 2.21 percent as compared to 1.65 percent farmers' practice and FYM covered with thatch roof was 1.59 percent contrary to 1.47 percent in farmers' practice…………………..
