Title : Varietal improvement on vegetable soybean in the mid-hills of Nepal Material Type: printed text Authors: Neupane, R., Editor ; Shrestha, R. ; Tripathi, S.R, Author ; A Paudel, Author ; S.R Subedi, Author Pagination: 197-202 p. Keywords: Vegetable soybean ; mid-hills varietal investigation Abstract: Soybean (Glycine max L. Merril) is the important summer legume in terms of area and
production in Nepal. It is now a days becoming popular for vegetable purpose in green pod
stage. Till now only one variety, Tarkari Bbatmas-1 bas been released for vegetable
purpose. Several exotic and local genotypes of vegetable soybean were evaluated at three
locations- Agronomy Division, Khumaltar, Hill Crops Research Program (HCRP) and
Regional Agriculture Research Station (RARS) Lumle in order to identify and select
suitable genotypes for the mid hills. In coordinated varietal trial at Khumaltar, AGS-361
(219lkglba), AGS-378 (2011kg/ba) and AGS-377 (1982kg/ha) were promising genotypes
in terms of seed yield. Differences in m8turity period and hundred seed weight was highly
significant among the tested genotypes in the year 2009/10, whereas in the year 2010111 in
coordinated varietal trial at Khumaltar, AGS-381(1838kg/ba) and AGS-364 (1779kglba)
produced higher yields than check variety Satbiya. In HCRP, Kabre and RARS, Lumle, the
genotype AGS-361 produced higher yields than standard check variety. In the farmers'
field trial at Khunialtar, HCRP Kabre and RARS Lumle, the genotypes AGS-378 and AGS-
351 were found promising in terms of seed yield.Link for e-copy: http://elibrary.narc.gov.np/?r=942 Varietal improvement on vegetable soybean in the mid-hills of Nepal [printed text] / Neupane, R., Editor ; Shrestha, R. ; Tripathi, S.R, Author ; A Paudel, Author ; S.R Subedi, Author . - [s.d.] . - 197-202 p.

Title : Varietal investigation of barley under different agro-ecological regions of Nepal Material Type: printed text Authors: S.R Subedi, Author ; Koirala, K.B., Author ; S Thapa, Author ; Prasad, R.C., Author ; KC, G., Author ; Bhujel, R.B., Author ; S.B BK, Author Pagination: 101-109 p. Languages : English (eng) Keywords: Barley, Genotypes, Environments, Productivity Abstract: Different experiments namely National Observation Nursery (NON), Initial Evaluation Trial (JET), Coordinated Varietal Trial (CVT) and Coordinated Farmers' Field Trials (CFFT) were conducted both in hill and mountain environments during winter season of 2008 and 2009. Among the tested genotypes when combined over years, genotype LG-51/XVeola-2-77-3-3-1-1-l K (2378 kg/ha) produced the highest yield followed by ACC# l 557 (1958 kg/ha) and B 8679-lk-2-0K3 (1946 kg/ha) in NON-hill. Likewise in NON-mountain, ACC#5177 (2650 kg/ha) followed by........................

Title : Wheat varietal investigation for dolakha and adjoining districts of Nepal Material Type: printed text Authors: Koirala, K.B., Author ; S.R Subedi, Author ; S Thapa, Author ; Vaidya, M.L., Author ; Prasad, R.C., Author ; Bhatta, M.R., Author Pagination: 206-211 p. Languages : English (eng) Keywords: Wheat, Genotypes, Experiments Abstract: Varietal Display and various experiments like Initial Evaluation Trials (JET) and Coordinated Farmers' Field trials (CFFT) on wheat were conducted at on-station and outreach sites of HCRP (Hill Crops Research Programme), Kahre during winter season of 2008 and 2009. The weather condition for wheat was unfavorable in 2008 as compared to 2009 because of drought. The result shows that in Varietal Display the average grain yield was found 316 and 834 kg/ha during 2008 and 2009, respectively . The maximum yield of Varietal Display was found in BL 3502 of 1170 kg/ha and in BL 3623 of 1900 kg/ha respectively during 2008 and 2009. During 2008 in Initial Evaluation Trial (IET) most of the agronomic traits except Days to Heading were recorded non-significant...................
