Title : Influence of nitrogen levels on seed yield and yield attributes of French Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) Material Type: printed text Authors: Bhurer, K.P., Author ; Sah, M.P., Author ; Regmi, A.P., Author ; Akhtar, T., Author ; R.T Chaudhary, Author Pagination: 287-289 p. Languages : English (eng) Abstract: Field experiments were conducted during winter seasons of 2008/09 and 2009/ 10, on acidic and sandy loam soils of Regional Agricultural Research Station, Parwanipur to study the response of different nitrogen levels on seed yield and yield attributes of French bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). There was a linear increase in seed yield with increasing level of nitrogen from 0 up to 120 kg ha-1 , during the both years. Significant differences in plant height, number of pod/plant, pod length, filled and unfilled pod/plant and 1000 seed weight were recorded at each level of nitrogen compared to control. Based on two year's result, the maximum (15.85) agronomic efficiency of applied nitrogen was found with 60 kg N ha-1.

Title : Varietal improvement works for fine and aromatic rice under irrigated condition at Parwanipur, Bara, Nepal Material Type: printed text Authors: P Shah, Editor ; Akhtar, T. ; Ansari, A.R., Author ; R.T Chaudhary, Author Pagination: 190-192 p. Keywords: Rice ; CVT CFFT Varietal improvement Fine and aromatic irrigated rice Abstract: A field experiment was carried out during the summer season of 2010 and 2011 to identify
the high yielding fine and aromatic rice variety at RARS Parwanipur, Bara. The experiment
was conducted in RCB design having three replications. During 2010 and 2011, twenty
entries were tested in Coordinated Varietal Trial. Among the tested entries the top grain
yield was produced by SPR 86035-52-5-1-1(2100 kg ha"1
) followed by IR 48725-B-B-99-3
(1882 kg ha" 1
) in 2010 while Katami produced top grain yield (4001 kg ha" 1
) followed by
IR78539-32-1-2-1 (3922 kg ha" 1
) in 2011. In Coordinated Farmers Field Trial, six
genotypes were evaluated. IR74052-165-3-2 produced the top grain yield (3040 kg ha"1
)
followed by IR77539-80-2-2-2 (2500 kg ha"1
) during 2010 and IR74052-165-3-2 produced
top grain yield (3550 kg ha" 1
) followed by IET16775 (3031 kg ha" 1
) in 2011.Link for e-copy: http://elibrary.narc.gov.np/?r=939 Varietal improvement works for fine and aromatic rice under irrigated condition at Parwanipur, Bara, Nepal [printed text] / P Shah, Editor ; Akhtar, T. ; Ansari, A.R., Author ; R.T Chaudhary, Author . - [s.d.] . - 190-192 p.
