Abstract: |
In 2007/08, 2008/09 and 2009/10, hybridization, growing of different generation nurseries (F1-F7), advanced lines (National and International) observation nurseries; different yield trials were conducted at ABO Khumaltar, ARS Jumla. Different numbers of crosses were made by simple and top cross methods targeting high hill condition with diseases resistance especially yellow rust, powdery mildew, smuts and others, higher yield, and better consumption quality. Selected bulks and single genotypes were harvested from the different generations by applying selected bulk and single plant selection method respectively for generation advance suitable for high hill condition of Nepal. Genotypes selected from observation nurseries viz., High Altitude Observation Nursery (HON), Facultative and Winter Wheat Observation Nursery (FAWWON) were advanced for yield trials (High Altitude Yield Trial and Multi-location Yield Trial) at ARS Jumla and Doti............. |
