Abstract: |
The effects of feeding different concentrate mixtures on VFI and daily LW gain of 8 cross-bred piglets (24M and 24F) which were about 8 weeks of age and 9 kg. LW were investigated in this experiment. Four replicatesof three pen groups of 4 piglets (2M, 2F) were randomly allocated to the three dietary treatments. The experimental diets were given for 42 days. The experimental diets were: 1. Khumal (KF), 2. Ratna(RF), and 3. Hetauda (HF) feeds. CP content of KF was slightly lower than the CP contents of RF and HF and some differences in the contents of the cell wall constituents were also found between the diets. The groups of animals given KF had significantly (P<0.05) lower ADFI and ADLWG than the groups of animals given either RF or HF. However, ADFI andADLWG between RF and HF were not found significantly different. Feed conversion ratios and apparent digestibilities were not significantly different between the treatment groups. |
