The target of the Agriculture Perspective Plan to increase the overall agricultural growth rate from 2.96% in 1995 to 4.76% in 2014/15 relies heavily on the actual growth rate to be achieved in the livestock sector (increasing the growth rate from 2.89% in 1995 to 6.1% during 2014/15).The growth of the livestock sector has been seriously afflicted due to lack of appropriatestrategies and well-defined objectives.
