Sah, Author Pagination: 154-157 p. Languages : English (eng) Keywords: genotypes, fertilizer, infection, late blight, potato, yield Abstract: A field experiment was carried out at Regional Agriculture Research Station Panvanipur,
Bara during winter seasons of 2001 and 2002 to evaluate potato genotypes for central Terai
of Nepal. The experiment was laid out ·in Randomized Comple.te Block Design with 3
replications. Twelve potato genotypes were evaluated. Fertilizers were applied at tlte rate of
100:100:60 kg N: P20s: K20 and 20 tons compost per hectare. Among tile tested genotypes
392250.56 was found least affected by late blight (3.0) disease. Two year mean yield data
showed the highest tuber yield (24.002 t/ha) With the genotype 396082.21 and hence
recommended for advance evaluation.Link for e-copy: http://elibrary.narc.gov.np/?r=483 Evaluation of Potato Genotypes in Central Terai [printed text] / Ghimire, J., Author ; U. L. Chaudhary, Author ; D.B. Gharti, Author ; R. L. Sah, Author . - [s.d.] . - 154-157 p.

Title : Response of Potato to Nitrogen and Potassium Application Under Parw Anipur Condition Material Type: printed text Authors: Ghimire, J., Author ; U. L. Chaudhary, Author ; K. B. Poudel, Author ; D.B. Gharti, Author ; R. L. Sah, Author Pagination: 199-204 p. Languages : English (eng) Keywords: infection, late blight, nitrogen, potato, potassium, yield Abstract: Afield experiment 011 potato cultivar Kufri Sindhuri was carried out at Regional Agricultural
Research Station Parwanipur Bara during winter seasons of 1998, 1999 and 2000 with all
objective to recommelld optimum doses of llitroge11 and potassium fertilizers for maximum
yield of potato u11der central Terai of Nepal. The experiment was conducted in factorial
randomized complete block design with four levels of nitrogen (0, 50, 100, 150 kglha) and
four levels of potash (0, 30, 60 and 90 kg/ha), phosphorus ( 100 kg /ha and compost (20 tlha)
remailling constant. The mean yield data indicated that there was all increase in tuber yield
with increased level of llitrogen. Similarly, as the potassium level increased there was also
significant increase in tuber yield Interaction effect of nitrogen and potassium showed the
highest tuber yield (26.35 tlha) with maximum dose of nitrogen ( 150 kg N/ha) and maximum
dose of potash (90 kg/ha). Minimum late blight infection (1.44) was observed at zero level of
nitrogen. As the rate of potash increased, there was a decrease in late blight infection.Link for e-copy: http://elibrary.narc.gov.np/?r=491 Response of Potato to Nitrogen and Potassium Application Under Parw Anipur Condition [printed text] / Ghimire, J., Author ; U. Languages : English (eng) Keywords: Benefit cost ratio, growth substance, summer vegetable Abstract: Bottle gourd (Lagenaria siceraria) is one of the major summer vegetables in terai. Generally, it is noticed that when the day length increases, number of fruits decreases resulting to reduced yield. Therefore, this trial was conducted for two years (2004 and 2005) on Pusa Summer Prolific Long (PSPL) variety to identify proper growth substance for improving the yield of bottle gourd. Among the growth substances, Vegimax at the rate of 0.25 milliliter per liter water gave significantly highest fruit yield (32.4 tons/ha ) followed by................

Title : Selection of late-blight resistant high yielding potato cultivars for central terai under rice-based cropping system Material Type: printed text Authors: Shrestha, S.L., Author ; R. L. Sah, Author ; Khatri, B.B., Author Pagination: 154-160 p. Languages : English (eng) Abstract: Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is an important winter vegetable crop in central terai. As compared to India (19.0 t/ha), the productivity of this area (16.59 t/ha) is quite low. The major contributing factors of low productivity are lack of high yielding and late blight resistant varieties. Tubers of 16 cultivars; 4 released check cultivars, 12 superior cultivars from Initial Evaluation Trial in the past were planted in Kartik and grown during winter season in BS 2066 and 2067 in RARS Parwanipur in rice-based cropping system. Experiment was laid out in RCBD with four replications. Tubers were planted on ridges in 60x25 cm spacing fertilized with 1000:100:60 kg NPK + 15 ton compost per hectare. Result showed that cv. Andinita (22.64 t/ha) which had significantly higher yield as compared to the rest of the cultivars and having resistant to late-blight disease was selected and recommended for cultivation in central terai. It was followed by CIP 389660.9 (21.25 t/ha) and CIP 388764.26 LB (19.09 t/ha) having fairly resistant to late-blight showed superior performance should be further evaluated in the farmers' field condition. These three cultivars had increased tuber yield by 25.9%, 18.2% and 6.2%, respectively.
