Bhattarai, Author ; D N Tiwari, Author ; Mishra, R.C., Author ; D Karki, Author Pagination: 399-404 p. Languages : English (eng) Keywords: Arachis hypogaea, participatory research, rhizobium, yield attributes, increment, net benefit. Abstract: With the aim of identifying and promoting the suitable genotypes of groundnut, participatory research and promotional activities were conducted in three consecutive seasons of 2004-2006 under rainfed bariland (upland) condition in the mid hills of Nepal. Promising genotypes of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) that were tested in the past were verified with or without rhizobium and molybdenum seed inoculation in diamond trials with 2 x 2 factorial design and 10 replications. The best genotypes were further promoted through larger plot demonstrations. Differences in yield and related attributes were significant due to the genotypes and seed inoculation with rhizobium bacteria…………….

Title : Preparation Of Salmonella Pullorum Colour Antigen And Seroprev Alence Of Pullorum Disease And Fowl Typhoid In Poultry Material Type: printed text Authors: SR Aryal, Author ; UM.Singh, Author ; DR Khanal, Author ; D Karki, Author ; MP Acharya, Author Pagination: 211-214 p. Languages : English (eng) Abstract: Salmonella pullorum colored antigen was prepared using standard Salmonella pullorum freeze dried seed
bacteria (SP 17) brought from Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), India. The agglutinability of
prepared antigen was compared with the antigen produced at IVRI with known positive and with positive
and negative serum from chicken. The agglutinability, of both antigens, was found to be similar. Using
antigen prepared at Animal Health Research Division, a total of 1280 birds of government and private
poultry of Kathmandu, Tarahara, Parwanipur and Chitawan of above 16 weeks of age. have been screened
for seroprevalence of pullorum disease and fowl typhoid in poultry. However, the specific type of the
disease was not identified as the serological testing does not differentiate the type of disease. Out of total
screened birds Ill (8.67%) were found positive. The entire positive cases Ill (8.67%) of birds were from
