Languages : English (eng) Abstract: This impact study was based upon the data collected from different unit of animal science and forage
research program at RARS, Taraham. Twenty years data ( 1985/86 to 2004/05) was reviewed. A total
number of 337 male buffalo calves, 8043 piglets, 746410 day old chicks and 91.97 tons of fodder/forage
seeds were distributed to the farmers. On the other hand, 381958 litre of milk, 1022251 numbers of table
eggs, 66011.8 kg and 43389 kg of meat from culling birds and pigs respectively were sold to the people
during the study period. A total of 31 male buffalo calves, 774 piglets, 82974 of day old chicks and 10.6 ton
of fodder/forage seeds were distributed. Likewise, 25419 litre of milk. 102527 numbers of table eggs,
5403.5 kg and 32 I 8 kg meat from culling birds and pigs respectively were also sold to the consumers during
that period.Link for e-copy: http://elibrary.narc.gov.np/?r=299 An Impact Of Livestock Production Program At Rars, Tarahara Through Distribution Of Livestock Products [printed text] / RD Pandit, Author ; RB Sah, Author ; Mandal, P., Author ; BP Budhnagaria, Author ; MD Jha, Author ; UN Yadav, Author . - [s.d.] . - 191-195 p.

Title : Consevation and Improvement of Different Poultry Breeds at Rars Tarahara Material Type: printed text Authors: RB Sah, Author ; RD Pandit, Author ; RS Mandal, Author ; UN Yadav, Author Pagination: 272-275 p. Languages : English (eng) Abstract: The experiment was conducted to study the performance of different line of Giriraja, Cornish and Plymouth
Rock chicken in similar management condition at the poultry research centre ofTarahara. At two month of
age, the highest body weight were recorded in PR (1313 g), followed by GR1 (1242 g), GR3 (1241 g), GR4
(1230 g), GR5 (1215 g), CR (1213 g) and GR2 (1176 g). The differences in the mean body of different
poultry breeds due to treatments and age were non-significant. The highest egg production was recorded in
GR4 (48 %) followed by GR3 (44 %), GRl (43 %), GR2 (40%) PR (36 %) and lowest by CR (21 %). The
difference in egg production was highly significant among breeds. The highest fertility was recorded in GR2
(95.92 %), followed by GRl (95.76 %), GR4 (95.35 %), PR (93.94 %), GR3 (91.82 %) and lowest by CR
(89.76 %). But the average fertility of the farm birds was 93.75%. The highest hatchability was recoded in
GR4 (90.25 %) followed by GR2 (90.22 %), GR3 (88.86 %), GRI (88.62 %), CR (88.59 %) and PR
(78.22%).Link for e-copy: http://elibrary.narc.gov.np/?r=348 Consevation and Improvement of Different Poultry Breeds at Rars Tarahara [printed text] / RB Sah, Author ; RD Pandit, Author ; RS Mandal, Author ; UN Yadav, Author . - [s.d.] . - 272-275 p.

Title : Evaluation and Maintenance of Different Strains of Quail and Their Genetic Improvement Material Type: printed text Authors: RB Sah, Author ; RD Pandit, Author ; RS Mandal, Author ; UN Yadav, Author Pagination: 276-277 p. Languages : English (eng) Abstract: The experiment was conducted to study the performance of different strains of quail in a similar
management condition at the poultry research centre ofTarahara. The result indicates that the similar result
from each strains of quail and no significant effect from each other and at six week of age body weight was
found higher in Foroh (157.4g), followed by EW (155.16g) and Toxido (1516.27g), The differences in the
mean body weight of different strains of quail were not significant. The differences in egg production were
not significant. The quails are promising in our condition in ETR. Demand of quail is high by the farmers
due to high protein content, fast growth, hardy in nature and. high in egg production.Link for e-copy: http://elibrary.narc.gov.np/?r=350 Evaluation and Maintenance of Different Strains of Quail and Their Genetic Improvement [printed text] / RB Sah, Author ; RD Pandit, Author ; RS Mandal, Author ; UN Yadav, Author . - [s.d.] . - 276-277 p.

Title : Study on the Production Performance of Cornish, Plymouth Rock, Native and Their Crossbred Cidcken Fed Broiler Ration Material Type: printed text Authors: RB Sah, Author ; RD Pandit, Author ; RS Mandal, Author ; UN Yadav, Author Pagination: 268-271 p. Languages : English (eng) Abstract: An experiment was conducted to study the effect of pure and crossbred progeny. Cornish, Plymouth Rock,
Native and their crossbred birds were taken to evaluate the performance parameters (feed intake, weight
gain, mortality percent, carcass yield and economic validity), which were fed with broiler ration and were
reared in the tropical climates at the poultry research farm at Tarahara. The experiment was replicated three
times with Complete Randomized Design (CRD). Seven pure and crossbred genotypes (C XC, P X P, N X
N, C X P, P X P, C X NAND P X N) were used in this study. Highly significant incidence of painting was
high on crossbred (C x P) progeny as it was significantly heavier than the rest. Economic return over
different treatment ranged from Rs. 27 to 37.5 I birds at the age of gth weeks. Highest economic return was
found in the crossbred (C x P) progeny.Link for e-copy: http://elibrary.narc.gov.np/?r=347 Study on the Production Performance of Cornish, Plymouth Rock, Native and Their Crossbred Cidcken Fed Broiler Ration [printed text] / RB Sah, Author ; RD Pandit, Author ; RS Mandal, Author ; UN Yadav, Author . - [s.d.] . - 268-271 p.
