Thapa, Author Publisher: Kathmandu : Nepal Animal Science Association (NASA) Publication Date: 1997 Pagination: 85-89 .p Keywords: Animal production; Pasture; Feed crops; nutrition; breeding; Fisheries; Livestock Abstract: The present study was conducted to overcome the drawbacks encountered through licking of urea mineral molasses block .Six recently calved lactating crossbred cattle with similar parity were divided into two groups comprising three in each group. With similar management system and feeding regime, one group was given Urea Mineral Molasses Block (UMMB) by partially replacing concentrate mixture and another group was fed with calculated concentrate mixture (control) for a period of 150 days to find out the response of UMMB in milk production. The result showed that the milk yield of UMMB fed animal was significantly different (P<O.05) than that of control group. Similarly, a positive correlation (r=0.42) was found between the UMMB intake and milk production.

Title : Study on the effect of early weaning on the growth rate of crossbred she calves. Material Type: printed text Authors: Shrestha, H.R., Author ; P Mandai, Author ; Shrestha R.P, Author ; B.S. Kunwar, Author Publisher: Lalitpur : Nepal Animal Science Association Publication Date: 1995 Pagination: 124-126 p. Keywords: Animal products; Research; Fisheries; Pastures; Livestock Abstract: Four groups of crossbred (Jersey, Holstein Friesen, Brown Swiss and Ayrshire) calves were weaned at 2,3, 4 and 6 months of age. The treatments to all groups till the weaning were same. First puberty wereobserved in group at the age of 10 15 ± 1.2 months with a body weight 135 ± 12.6 kg. Maximum bodyweight 195.3 ± 10.2 was found in group C at the age of 12.33 ± 0.3 months.
