Its production area is increasing day by day due to its dual benefit from spikes and corms. An experiment was conducted in order to assess the effect of different spike harvest stages on corm production at Agriculture Research Station, Pakhribas ·Both corm and carmel yield reduced with opening of more florets. Treatments 1 and 2 produCed highest corm and carmel yield. Thus we can recommend ·the spike harvesting before opening of buds at color showing stage for highest corm and carmel production.
