Title : An Outbreak of Avian Encephalomyelitis in Chicks at Kavrepalanchowk District in Nepal Material Type: printed text Authors: Jha, V.C., Author ; U. M. Singh, Author ; S. Hokonohara, Author Pagination: 154-157 p. Languages : English (eng) Abstract: An outbreak of a disease in day old chicks in a hatchery and after a week also in broiler
farms of the Kavrepalanchock district was reported. The investigation suggested that the
chicks at the hatchery and at broiler farms had outbreaks of Avian Encephalomyelitis
(AE). The disease was confirmed by serological and histopathological examinations of
the collected samples (serums and brain). The parent flock had not been vaccinated. The
affected chicks had clinical signs of dullness, depression, ataxia, tremors of head and
neck and inclination to sit on their hocks. At the broiler farms the overall morbidity rate
due to AE was 30.6% and mortality rate was 22.6%.Link for e-copy: http://elibrary.narc.gov.np/?r=394 An Outbreak of Avian Encephalomyelitis in Chicks at Kavrepalanchowk District in Nepal [printed text] / Jha, V.C., Author ; U. M. Singh, Author ; S. Hokonohara, Author . - [s.d.] . - 154-157 p.

Kathmandu, Pokhara and Gorkha. A total of 184 serum samples were collected for the
study. Plate agglutination test was employed for the Mycoplasma agglutinins in the blood
sera. Prevalence of CRD in Chitawan, Kathmandu, Pokhara and Gorkha were 75%,
29%, 63% and 66% respectively. Mycoplasma infection in 2 to 5 months age. 6 to 8
month age and >9 month age group were 76%, 56% and 45% respectively.STUDY ON CHRONIC RESPIRATORY DISEASE IN CHICKEN [printed text] / Pradhan, A., Author ; Jha, V.C., Author ; S. Hokonohara, Author . - [s.d.] . - 126-129 p.

Hokonohara, Author Pagination: 162-164 p. Languages : English (eng) Abstract: The incidence of disease was recorded mostly in buffaloes during peak winter season
(Jan-Feb). In Morang district out of 189 buffaloes studied 92(48. 7%) were found
affected. The morbidity was found to be 31.2% and mortality rate was 17.5%. ln Sunsari
district 70 buffaloes were examined, morbidity was 50% and mortalil)i rate was 18. 6%.
However out of 150 cattle examined no cattle were found affected in both districts. Blood
smear revealed anemia, increased number of band cells (immature neutrophils). All
samples were negative for blood protozoa. Fungal culture of the straw samples revealed
