Languages : English (eng) Abstract: The ammal demand of stylo seed is estimated at 3-1 t annually where as 25% of the
required amount is produced in the counfly. This experiment was conducted in the
leasehold sites with leasehold farmers groups in order to find out the varietal capability
for seed production and cost-benefit condition Experiment on fodder cum seed
production was conducted in two leasehold group in Makawanpur and in kavere and
Ramechhap disfl·icts under complete randomized disign. The pasture species stylosanthes
gainensis cv. cook was so11111under minimum tillage. A comparision ·was done for green
matter and seed production among three cultivars of stylo. On an average green matter
production from stylosanthes gainensis cv.cook was 20 t ·ha. As for seed production
potential is concerned the highest quality seed was produced from stylosanthes gainensis
Cv Graham 56.3 kg ha followed by stylosanthes gainensis cv CIAT-18-1 S2. 7 kg,ha and
stylosanthes gainensis cv Cook 22.5 kg ha. Cost benifit condition indicated that the net
income from seed and green fodder production per ha basis was the highest from cv.
