Title : Crop suitability for rice-wheat systems in bhaktapur district by using GIS Material Type: printed text Authors: Sah, Kamal Pagination: 322-326 p. Languages : English (eng) Keywords: GIS survey ; marginally suitable information Abstract: This study was conducted in the year 2000, with the objective to find out the suitable area for
rice and wheat crops in Bhaktapur district on the basis of different land qualities (soil
texture, depth. pH, drainage, slope, altitude) required to these crops in GIS environment. The
rice-wheat system is the major cropping pattern in the Indo-Gangetic plains of South East
Asia. The soil survey was also conducted to generate the soil information from the analyzed
soil samples. The result showed that the 31.3% rice area and 46.8% wheat area were
marginally suitable. There is no highly suitable area was found for rice and wheat crops due
to acidic pH constraints of soil in the district. The result of this study is very useful for the
planning of agriculture development in the district.Link for e-copy: http://elibrary.narc.gov.np/?r=1118 Crop suitability for rice-wheat systems in bhaktapur district by using GIS [printed text] / Sah, Kamal . - [s.d.] . - 322-326 p.
