Jalan, Author Pagination: 203-209 p. Languages : English (eng) Abstract: A study was conducted on 266 indigenous hill buffaloes in the research command area (RCA)
of Agricultural Research Station (ARS), Lunzle in four agro-ecological domains viz. High hill
(1600-2300 mas!), Mid hill (1000-1600 m as/), Low hill (600-1000 mas/) and River basin
(240-600 mas/). The study showed that the milk yield of Lime was although marginally higher
than Parkote in river basin and low hill. However, the difference was not significant.
Similarly, no statistical difference was found in respect of reproductive performance traits
(Age at .first service, calving interval, and calving to first service) between the two indigenous
breeds.Link for e-copy: http://elibrary.narc.gov.np/?r=409 A Comparative Study on the Productive Performance of the Indigenous Hill Buffaloes Raised Under Farmers Management in the Western Hills of Nepal [printed text] / Amatya, N., Author ; Rasali, D.P., Author ; Rana, R.S., Author ; R. Title : Effect of Concentrate Feeding on Meat Production of Local Male Buffalo Calves Material Type: printed text Authors: Rana, R.S., Author ; Amatya, N., Author ; Shrestha, H.R., Author Pagination: 132-139 p. Languages : English (eng) Abstract: Meat production potential and carcass characteristics of 8 local male buffalo calves were
studied. A group of 4 calves (treatment group) were kept under concentrate feeding,
whereas, another group having similar number of calves (control group) were kept under
general village feeding practices. The average dry matter intake and the initial body
weight of both groups were not statistically different between themselves. However,
during a growth trial period of 157 days the final body weight of treatment group was
significantly higher (P<0.05) than that of the control group i. e. 267kg and 225 kg
respectively. Dressing percentage and meat percentage of treatment group was
significantly higher than that of control group (P<O. 05). Whilst, bone percentage of
control group was significantly higher (P<0.05) as compared to the treatment group.Effect of Concentrate Feeding on Meat Production of Local Male Buffalo Calves [printed text] / Rana, R.S., Author ; Amatya, N., Author ; Shrestha, H.R., Author . - [s.d.] . - 132-139 p.
