day old chicks of Austral01p bird is a regular activity of Swine and Avian Research Program
(SARP). Khumaltar. Chicks are distributed to the rural farmers through District Livestock
Services Sector. Demand of chicks are very high because of their hardy in nature, resemble
like local bird and production higher than the local bird. Rural farmers raised their birds on
scavenging condition. Especially on the rural area they provide local feed like kitchen
wastage and other feed which are not used by human beings. Farmers get more benefit from
cock selling during festivals. Egg production is 204 eggs/bird. Egg production startedfrom24
weeks and increased up to 40 weeks and after that started to decline. Mortality rate was 20
