Title : Alternative technique of rice transplanting Material Type: printed text Authors: Ganesh Sah ; Sah, R.P., Author Pagination: 412-417 p. Languages : English (eng) Abstract: The experiments were conducted at the Agricultural Implement Research Centre (AIRC),
Birganj during Kharif seasons 2000101 to 2002103. The experiments consisted of 3
treatments during first year and 4 treatments in the following years. The treatments were:
seed dropping by Drum Seeder with 20 x 15 em spacing (T1), seed dropping by Drum Seeder
with 20 x 20 em spacing (T;) , seed dropping by Drum Seeder with 20 ems x continuous
spacing (T J), and Manual Transplanting (T-4). Germinated seed of rice variety Radha-4 was
dropped on the surface of puddled and leveledfields. Rice grain yields (at 1-1% m.c.) were,
during first two years, at par, while. they were significant in the last year. The highest mean
grain yield of. over the years, 5833 kglha was produced by treatment T3. While, manual
transplanting of seedlings (T-4) produced the lowest mean grain yield of 5055 kglha. Straw
yields produced by the treatments varied significantly during the years. The highest mean
straw yield of 7713 kg/ha was produced by treatment (T ;). Treatment T1 showed the lowest
mean straw yield of 7314 kglha. The highest mean marginal return of 39701.00 Rs/ha was
seen with treatment (T;) and the lowest of31 79 2. 00 Rslha by manual transplanting. Seed
so1>ving by Drum Seeders ·were more beneficial than manual transplanting economicallyLink for e-copy: http://elibrary.narc.gov.np/?r=1131 Alternative technique of rice transplanting [printed text] / Ganesh Sah ; Sah, R.P., Author . - [s.d.] . - 412-417 p.
