Languages : English (eng) Abstract: This impact study was based upon the data collected from different unit of animal science and forage
research program at RARS, Taraham. Twenty years data ( 1985/86 to 2004/05) was reviewed. A total
number of 337 male buffalo calves, 8043 piglets, 746410 day old chicks and 91.97 tons of fodder/forage
seeds were distributed to the farmers. On the other hand, 381958 litre of milk, 1022251 numbers of table
eggs, 66011.8 kg and 43389 kg of meat from culling birds and pigs respectively were sold to the people
during the study period. A total of 31 male buffalo calves, 774 piglets, 82974 of day old chicks and 10.6 ton
of fodder/forage seeds were distributed. Likewise, 25419 litre of milk. 102527 numbers of table eggs,
5403.5 kg and 32 I 8 kg meat from culling birds and pigs respectively were also sold to the consumers during
that period.Link for e-copy: http://elibrary.narc.gov.np/?r=299 An Impact Of Livestock Production Program At Rars, Tarahara Through Distribution Of Livestock Products [printed text] / RD Pandit, Author ; RB Sah, Author ; Mandal, P., Author ; BP Budhnagaria, Author ; MD Jha, Author ; UN Yadav, Author . - [s.d.] . - 191-195 p.

Title : A Comparative Performance Study of Hampshire, Yorkshire and Their Crossbreed Pigs at T Arahara Material Type: printed text Authors: R. B. Sah, Author ; Pandit, R.D., Author ; Mandal, P., Author Pagination: 197-199 p. Languages : English (eng) Abstract: A stzu(y was carried out including productive and reproductive pelformance of Hampshire,
Yorkshire and their crossbred pigs qfter weaning to four years of age on RARS, Tarahara.
Twenty-fimr piglets (8 Hampshire, 8 Yorkshire and 8 crossbred) were used for comparative
study of productil•e and reproductive pe!formance. It was observed that the growth rate was
signfficant at the age (~f 9 and 12 months (P<O.O/J. The hi~hest live H1eight gain was
obtained by Yorkshire (164.9 kg) .followed by crossbred (161.04 kg) and Hampshire (137.4
kg) respectively. The highest litter size was obtained by Yorkshire (9.46) followed by
Hampshire (8.56) and crossbred (4.42) that showed a significant effect per farrow of the
sows (P<O.O/). The wean litter size was signfficant (P< O.OI). The highest wean litter size
was ohtained hy Yorkshire (7..:1), .followed by Hampshire (6.4) and the crossbred (3.1)
respectil·ely. The highest mortality percent was sign!ficant (P<O.Ol). It was observed that the
highest mortality percent was in crossbred (30. 7%). followed by Hampshire (23. 7 %) and
Yorkshire (21.2 %) respectively.Link for e-copy: http://elibrary.narc.gov.np/?r=406 A Comparative Performance Study of Hampshire, Yorkshire and Their Crossbreed Pigs at T Arahara [printed text] / R. B. Sah, Author ; Pandit, R.D., Author ; Mandal, P., Author . - [s.d.] . - 197-199 p.

Title : Effect of cutting heights on the green matter production of oats. Material Type: printed text Authors: Pariyar, D., Editor ; Mandal, P., Author ; Shrestha M.K., Author Publisher: Lalitpur : NASA Publication Date: 1992 Pagination: 52-55 p. General note: AN: 3051 Keywords: Animal production; Extension activities; Pastures; animals;Oat (Avena sativa L.) & legumes, Nitrogen fertilizer, Rainfed condition, Green yield. Class number: NR-4416 Abstract: An experiment comprising four cutting heights 3, 5, 7 or 9 em of six cultivars (Kent, Swan, Amuri, Caraville, JH 810 and JH 822) of Oat with three replications was conducted at Khumaltar (NPFRP) in FY. 2046/47 under rainfed condition to asses forage production. Three cuttings were taken 57, 45 or 37 days after sowing. FYM @ 5 t/ha. and urea @ 100 kg/ha. were applied as basal dose. The maximum production was harvested 39.0 t/ha.fresh weight from JH 810 when cut at 7 cm. above ground level followed by Kent; 36.3 t. at 5 cm., JH 822; 33.8 y. at7 cm., Caraville; 33.3 t. at 9 cm., Swan; 32.9 t. at 5 cm. and Amuri; 33.2 t. at 9 cm/ha. There was no significanteffect of cutting heights on green matter production.

Title : Effect of Prepartum Concentrate Feeding on Milk Productrion in Dairy Buffaloes Material Type: printed text Authors: Mandal, P., Author Pagination: 37-40 p. Languages : English (eng) Abstract: Twelve advanced pregnant murrah buffaloes of similar lactation number, calving season and
milk production of previous lactation were used for this study to find out the effect of prepartum
feeding on postpartum production. All twelve animals were divided into four treatment groups
A, B, C and D randomly. Group A, B, C and D were provided the concentrate @ 3. 5, 3. 0, 2. 5
and 2. 0 kg, respectively twice a day. This concentrate was given prior to 60 days of calving.
The milk yield was recorded daily two times for a peak lactation period of 120 days and found
highly significantly difference in group A, B, C and D. Similarly the birth weight was found
significantly difference.Effect of Prepartum Concentrate Feeding on Milk Productrion in Dairy Buffaloes [printed text] / Mandal, P., Author . - [s.d.] . - 37-40 p.
