Abstract: |
Embryo culture is an efficient plant breeding tool to accomplish wide hybridization in the genus Oryza. Successful plant regeneration from embryo culture is affected by several factors such as age of embryo, medium composition, light hours, temperature and humidity during culture and technique of hardening. Six hybrids (Kalanamak/O.nivara, Kalanamak/O. rufipogon, Kalanamak/O. officinalis, Manshara/O. officinalis, IR 64/O.nivara, and IR 72/O. granulate), two improved parents viz IR72 and O. granulata were subjected to five different media and four techniques of hardening to determine the efficiency of these media for germination and techniques for seedlings hardening……… |
