Title : Occurrence of Ichthyophthirius multifiliis on snow trout fry (Schizothorax richardsonii) in godawari fish farm, Nepal Material Type: printed text Authors: Rayamajhi, A., Author ; Roy, N.K., Author Pagination: 373-378 p. Languages : English (eng) Keywords: Ichthyophthirius, protozoan parasite, prevalence, occurrence, rainy season Abstract: The protozoan parasite identified as Ichthyophthirius multifiliis Fouquet (1876) was first time noticed on snow trout (Asala) fry (Schizothorax richardsonii) reared in Godawari Fish Farm. The parasitism of I. multifiliis to Asla fish is a new occurrence in Nepal. Site of occurrence of I. multifiliis was observed in wet smear of skin, fin and gills scraping as well as in the underlying musculature of skin in histological studies. Diameter of isolated organisms I. multifiliis was measured ranges from 0.0505-1.1666 mm under microscope. The mean prevalence of I. multifiliis to Asala fry during rainy season (June 2007) estimated was 64.1 percent. The daily mortality rate of Asala fry, observed for nine days, due to I. multifiliis infestation ranged between 0.2 to 12.6 percent.

Title : VARIATION IN THE GROWTH OF RAINBOW TROUT FED UPON PELLET FEED WITH DIFFERENT PROPORTIONS OF SHRIMP MEAL Material Type: printed text Authors: Roy, N.K., Author ; A. P. Nepal, Author ; Basnyat, S.R., Author Pagination: 47-52 p. Languages : English (eng) Abstract: Animal protein is the most essential part of trout feed Shrimp is a good source of animal
protein to improve the quqlity of rainbow trout. However, shrimp is very expen~ive in the
local market. An alternate way to reduce the cost of trout feed is to use the shrimp meal
as low as possible. Feeding trial was conducted with jour group of diet with 70, 50, 30
and 10% shrimp powder with and without incorporating 10% soybean oil in each diet.
Rainbow trout jed upon the diets containing more than 50% shrimp powd_er resulted in
highest specific growth rate (2.0% per day}, feed efficiency more than 57% and survival
rate more than 98 percent. The 10% soybean oil mixed in diet with 30% shrimp powder
produced similar growth results of (;out as contrived in 50% inclusion of shrimp powder.
The production cost of trout with 30% shrimp powder added with 10% soybean oil was
estimated to be 15% less than the feed prepared with 50% inclusion level of shrimp
powder.VARIATION IN THE GROWTH OF RAINBOW TROUT FED UPON PELLET FEED WITH DIFFERENT PROPORTIONS OF SHRIMP MEAL [printed text] / Roy, N.K., Author ; A. P. Nepal, Author ; Basnyat, S.R., Author . - [s.d.] . - 47-52 p.
