Title : Evaluations of Cabbage Cultivars for Export Markets Material Type: printed text Authors: Budathoki, K, Author ; N G Pradhan, Author ; Bhattarai, D.R., Author Pagination: 405-408 p. Languages : English (eng) Keywords: cabbage, cultivars, diseases tolerance Abstract: Cabbage is one of the important exportable vegetable crops produced in the hills of Nepal
during Asadh to Kartik. Produced cabbage heads are exported to India apart from domestic
consumption. However, the price of the cabbage received by the exporter is very poor and is
deterwined by· the quality parameters require by the consumers and importers of the
importing countries. Round shaped head, dark green· colour of leaves and small heads
weighting about one kilogram are the important quality parameter of the cabbage heads
needed by Indian importers. However, the present recommended cultivars are lacking of
these quality traits and are found unsuitable for export markets. In view of these problems,
experiment was conducted during 2000 to 200/ to evaluate and identify the cultivars suitable
for export markets and domestic markets. A total of 22 cabbage cultivars were evaluated in
RCBD with 3 replications. Transplanting was done in first week of Shravan. The plot size
was 2.4 m2. Tfte row-to-row and plant-to-plant spacing were kept at 40 em and 40 em
respectively. Result showed that cultivars Gonzales, Vector Boy, NS 27 and Saint had been
found with exportable size, color and shape of the head. These cultivars therefore should be
recommended for wider cultivation for export markets.Link for e-copy: http://elibrary.narc.gov.np/?r=678 Evaluations of Cabbage Cultivars for Export Markets [printed text] / Budathoki, K, Author ; N G Pradhan, Author ; Bhattarai, D.R., Author . - [s.d.] . - 405-408 p.

susceptible for this diseases in Agricultural Research Station, Jumla. The experiment was
laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with Ten treatments and three
replications. The statistical analysis showed significant dijforence in terms of yield and
