conducted to identify high yielding agronomically superior genotypes. Coordinated and
international upland observation Nursery (IURON) experiments were conducted at
.-l.RS/Belachapi and RARS/Nepalganj. Three successful backcrosses were done with
Ghaiya-2 and F 1 was evaluated at NRRP/Hardinath. Following agronomically superior
high yielding genotypes were identified against check. Ghaiya-2 and local check Bagari.

Title : Screening of True Potato Seed (TPS) families for Tuber (F1C1) production in Mid-Western Terai Material Type: printed text Authors: S Ahamad, Author ; Chaudhary, D.K., Author ; Y.P KC, Author Pagination: 141-147 p. Languages : English (eng) Abstract: The experiment was carried out at Regional Agriculture Research Station, Khajura, Nepalgunj during the winter seasons of 2066/2067 and 2067/2068. Studies were performed taking seedling tubers of six TPS families, namely C96H-02.4xC99HT-2-32.43, C96H- 02.4xC99HT-2-32.17, C96H-02.4xC99HT-1-58.1, C5HA-01.5xC99HT-2-32.17, C95HA01xC99HT-2-32.43, C95HA-01.2xC959HT2-32.17 and Kufri Sinduri as a local check. The experiments were laid out in randomized complete block design (RCBD) with four replications. Plot size of 3.0 m x 2.4 m maintained and 48 seedling tubers were planted in four rows with spacing of 60 cm x 25 cm in each plot. Fertilizers were applied @100:100:60 kg/ha (NPK) and 20 t/ha compost. Observations were recorded as growth and yield attributing characters in order to identify the suitable true potato seed (TPS) families for tuber production in the mid-western terai. The highest tuber (F1C1) yield was produced by C96H- 02.4xC99HT-2-32.17 (24.5t/ha) and followed by C96H-02.4xC99HT-2-32.43 (23.3t/ha). Lower late blight scoring was recorded in C95HA-01.2xC959HT2-32.17 (score 1.9) and C96H-02.4xC99HT-2-32.17 (score 2.1). All tested families of TPS bear white color. On the basis of results obtained it can safely be concluded that TPS family C96H-02.4xC99HT-2-32.17 (24.5t/ha) and C96H-02.4xC99HT-2-32.43 (23.3t/ha) were promising for tuber (F1C1) production in the mid-western terai. However, for recommendation, it requires further verification.

Bhattarai, Author Pagination: 62-65 p. Languages : English (eng) Keywords: grafting methods, root stocks, scions Abstract: To verify the suitable grafting methods and seasons 011 jackfruit, a field experiment was
conducted from 2058 to 2060 at RARS, Tarahara. Four grafting methods viz. splice, veneer,
cleft and stone were evaluated in 3 different seasons i.e. March-April, August-September and
November-December, respectively. Grafted plants were maintained under three different
conditions: covered by plastic tunnel, individual plant covered by polythene bag and the
grafted plants kept wzder open condition. 50 grafted plants were used for each experimental
unit. 4 to 6 months old scions were used for grafting. One-year-old rootstocks were used for
splice, veneer and cleft grafting but in stone grafting, two weeks old rootstocks were used.
Splice grafting method covered individually by polythene bags during March- April season
gave the highest success rate (72.6%)followed by veneer grafting method (63.0%).Link for e-copy: http://elibrary.narc.gov.np/?r=460 Standardization of Grafting Methods and Seasons on Jackfruit Attarahara [printed text] / Chaudhary, D.K., Author ; R.
