Abstract: |
There were altogether twelve different activities under varietal improvement for Terai under timely. Sown irrigated conditions. Out of which included were crossing block cum hybridization, segregation generation lines ( Fl to F7), four screening nurseries, five yield trials (National and International), one wheat varietal display and small plot seed increase of the genotypes included in coordinated varietal trials (CVTs and IETs). The major objectives of this investigation are to identify wheat varieties with high yield potential ( 4 to 5 ton), enhanced resistance to foliar blight complex, durable resistance to leaf rust, tolerance to high temperature regimes during post anthesis period and suitable under Rice-Wheat cropping pattern of the Terai region……………………….. |
