Abstract: |
Field experiments were conducted during winter seasons of 2008/09 and 2009/ 10, on acidic and sandy loam soils of Regional Agricultural Research Station, Parwanipur to study the response of different nitrogen levels on seed yield and yield attributes of French bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). There was a linear increase in seed yield with increasing level of nitrogen from 0 up to 120 kg ha-1 , during the both years. Significant differences in plant height, number of pod/plant, pod length, filled and unfilled pod/plant and 1000 seed weight were recorded at each level of nitrogen compared to control. Based on two year's result, the maximum (15.85) agronomic efficiency of applied nitrogen was found with 60 kg N ha-1. |
