Abstract: |
The information and communication technologies (ICTs) and its use in agriculture are pivotal for the transformation of agricultural technologies to its clients. ICTs empower farming community by providing latest knowledge to make commercial agricultural production more profitable. ICTs can help farmers in contributing to organic agriculture farming by providing online information, text information, digital information and others that has been utilized for commercial organic farming. The informed and empowered farmers keep abreast with latest knowledge on organic agriculture and know their role in an environmentally sustainable society. This paper has attempted to analyze the present situation of ICT use in organic agriculture, its importance to farmers involved in organic agriculture. Furthermore, it assesses the media involvement in dissemination of organic farming, software and hardware utilized in organic agriculture, development of web-based software applications and finally capacity building of the agricultural researchers as well as extension professionals engaged in organic agriculture farming. Now, organic agriculture is the debate of present context due to imbalance use of pesticides, inorganic fertilizers and other chemicals that directly or indirectly affect the human health…………………….. |
