Abstract: |
Open water aquaculture is culture-based fisheries which are mostly or entirely maintained by the stock enhancement for recapture. It also involves aquaculture practices in open water bodies with appropriate fish species of commercial value. In Nepal, it has been practiced in three lakes of Pokhara valley i.e., Phewa (523 ha), Begnas (328 ha) and Rupa (135 ha) and Kulekhani reservoir (75-220 ha) as a panacea solution to increase benefits from fisheries. This technology provides employment, nutritional food security and livelihood improvements to the local ethnic and deprived community……………… |
