Abstract: |
Wheat (Triticumaestivum L.) is the third most important cereal crop after rice and maize in Nepal. Out of total wheat growing area (731,131 ha) and production (1,556,539 metric tons) of the country 58% area and 71% production is occupied by terai region. In terai, 75% wheat is grown under fully or partially irrigated conditions. This is the major wheat growing domain in which cultivation of wheat is done under well managed conditions. In order to develop stable wheat varieties with high yield potential and resistance to major diseases multi-location replicated testing of promising wheat genotypes under coordinated varietal trials was performed during 2008/09 and 2009/10, respectively…………………… |
