Jute (Corchorus spp.) is a traditional commercial crop of eastern terai of Nepal. Nepal introduced JRC 321, JRC 212, JRO 632, JRO 524 and JRO 7835 jute genotypes in 1970s. In 1993, Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) obtained facilities of jute and established Jute Research Program (JRP) at Itahari, Nepal for jute research and development. In 1999, JRP released Itahari 1 and Itahari 2 jute varieties for general cultivation……………… |
