Finger millet is the second most important crop after maize in the hills of Nepal. The crop is affected by several diseases and among them, Cercospora leaf spot (CLS) caused by Cercospora eleusine is an important disease in the mid high hills of the country. About 15% grain yield loss has been estimated due to the disease at Kabre, Dolakha. Although the disease is effectively controlled by using resistant varieties, it is difficult to obtain multi-disease resistant finger millet cultivars. Besides, there are very few disease resistant recommended varieties. In an attempt to control CLS disease of finger millet four fungicides (Bavistin, Bitox-50 , Dithane M-45 and Hinosan) were evaluated and sprayed separately at stem elongation, heading and flowering stages
