Abstract: |
Agronomical research in Nepal was initiated in 1954 in Singha Durbar after the. Agronomy Section was created in 1953 (Annual Report, DOACR 1968). In 1965, this section was transferred to Khumaltar. Other eight experimental farms were also established in different agro-ecological regions of the country under this section. Recommendation of improved varieties of food grain crops and their cultivation practices were initiated in a modest way. In the beginning, most of the agronomical research was focused on varietal improvement and few on crop management. After the establishment of the crop commodity programs in 1972, agronomical research was further strengthened……………… |
