Abstract: |
Yellow sarson (Brassica rapa syn. Brassica compestris var. yellow sarson) is one of the winter oilseed crop mostly grown in mixed cropping system with wheat in terai and mid-hills of Nepal. Field experiments viz; Observation Nursery (OBN) and Initial Evaluation Trial (IET) were carried out at National Oilseed Research Program(NORP) Nawalpur, Sarlahi during 1998/99-1999/2000 and Coordinated Varietal Trial (CVT) was conducted at NORP Nawalpur and RARS Parwanipur in 1999/2000 to evaluate the yield performance of elite sarson lines. In OBN, Morang-2, Samiti local and Slzankarpur yellow produced seed yield of 498 kg/ha, 420 kg/ha and 382 kg/ha,respectively. In JET, ICS-9108 produced highest seed yield of 524 kg/ha followed by ECS-9138-1 (476 kg/ha). In CVT, S-4 produced highest seed yield of 419 kg/ha followed by Sarlahi local (389 kg/ha). In CFFT, ECS-9138 gave highest seed yield of 602 kg/ha and 500 kg/hza respectively at Parwanipur and Sarlahi conditions. |
