Abstract: |
Varietal improvement on mustard ( Brassica juncea) was carried out to select high yielding andearlymaturing lines across the locations.Observation nursery and initial evaluation trial at NORP and coordinated varietal trial and coordinated farmers field trial at NORP, RARSs Parwanipur and Bhairahawa were carried out during 1998 and 1999. Four lines ICJ-9707, 9712, 9715 and 9718 were found early maturing (93-96 DAS) and ICJ-9701 and 9711 were superior in phenotypic characteristics. ICJ-9704 was found high yielding (465 kg/ha) in JET. In CVT, ICJ-96126 produced highest mean seed yield 750 kg/ha at NORP, Nawalpur and 885 kg/ha at RARS Parwanipur. ICJ-9658 produced highest mean seed yield of 1011 kg/ha at RARS Bhairahawa. Vardan produced equal seed yield to Krishna in CFFT. |
