Abstract: |
Tori (Brassica rapa syn. Brassica campestris var. toria) is the most important oilseed crop of Nepal which oceupies about 85 % of the total oilcrops area. Varietal Improvement has been carried om since National Oilseed Research Program (NORP) came into existence. An Observation Nursery was planted in 1998199 -1999/2000 at NORP with 24 lines. Out of them Acc.# 6761 produced highest mean seed yield of 681 kg/ha followed by ACC # 6076 (659 kg/ha) and ACC#6764 (653kg/ha). In Initial Evaluation Trial (IET), highest mean seed yield was produced by ACC#5738 (825 kg/ha)followedby Surkhet local-B (799 kg/ha) and ACC# 5692 (797 kg/ha), Over the locations and years (1998/99-1999/2000) seed yield results in coordinated varietal trial showed the variety M-27 as highest yield with 873 kg/hafollowedbyICT-8257(855 kg/ha) and ICT-9137(811 kg/ha). While the check variety Pragati produced mean seed yield of 776 kg/ha. In coordinatedfarmers field trial (CFFT),Surkhet local recorded highest mean seed yield (722 kg/ha) in Surkhet condition and Pragati performed well in Nepalgunj and Parwanipur conditions and PT-30 and M-27 performed better in Sarlahi condition. |
