Abstract: |
During panicle initiation and flowering singes, C02 enriched plot had the highest leaf area index (LAI) in the first year. Minimum temperature was slightly higher in C02 enriched plot C02 enriched plot had 15% and ambient plot had only 10% increase in grain yield as compare to the field. The C02 enriched plot had almost higher straw yield than others. It was about 30 to 37% higher than field plot. Number of tillers per square meter was highest in C02enriched plot followed by ambient and field plot. Plant height and panicle length were both higher in C02 enriched plot. C02 enriched plot had lesser N, P and K content in grain, straw and root. However, organic carbon (OC) content in root was more than 100% as compare to the field plot. C:N ratio were also higher except in the grain. Higher grain yield in C02 enriched plot was due to higher number of tillers per square meter, seeds per panicle and panicle length. |
