In order to develop high yielding, early maturing, disease resistant and farmers preferred finger millet varieties a series of
experiments such as NON, lET, CVT and FFT were conducted at HCRP Kabre, it's Outreach Research Site and other locations
under field condition of mid and high hills environment during two consecutive season 2005 and 2006. Acc.#523-1, Acc.#2311, GE-
0356, GE-0382 and Acc.#433-1 were selected as promising fingermillet genotypes based on grain yield and other desired characters.
Among the tested entries GE-5016 and GE-5176 are proposed to release as new fmgermillet varieties for the purpose of general
cultivation.
