Abstract: |
A total of 72 genotypes of three different species.of Jute ie. Corchorus capsularis ,Corchorus olitorius and H. cannabinus were evaluated in seven different varietal activities under the ·project varietal investigation of jute .The activities were conducted during April to July season2004 and 2005 to identify superior genotypes which fit in fanners cropping system. Among the tested genotypes of Corchorus Capsula1is NPUSUN/ITA/008(2004)cc, NPUSUN/ITA/014(2004)cc, NPUSUN/ITA/013(2004)cc, NPUSUN/ITA/020 (2004)cc, NPUSUN/ITA/022(2004)cc, NPUSUN/ITA/019(2004)cc, NPUSUN/ITA/024 (2004)cc and NPUSUN/ITA/026(2004)cc were found superior. In Corchorus olitorius, NPUSUNIITA/005(2004)co, NPUSUNIITA/008(2004)co, NPUSUN/ITA/012 (2004)co, NPUSUNIIT A/023(2004)co, NPUSUNIIT A/026(2004)co, NPUSUNIIT A/027(2004)co, NPUSUNIIT A/030(2004)co and NPUSUN/ ITA/029 (2004)co were found superior and similarly of H. Cannabinus UO/NPUK.AIIBC/032 H. HC., IJO/NPUBRD/SRB/077 H. HC., JRP Acc.#123 and HC AMC -108 (CRI JAF)(097) were found superior. All the Promising genotypes were selected for further testing in coming season . Plant height, Leaf areas, Basal diameter, node number, Internodal length, Green Plant weight, Green ribbon weight had significant positive correlation with Dry fiber weight |
