Abstract: |
Coordinated varietal trials (CVTS), farmers' field trials (FFTs) and farmers' acceptance tests (FAT) were conducted during summer 2000 to 2002 in the research command areas of Agricultural research station, Lumle to address the clients need in improving the existing productivity of normal rice in western hills. Based on the overall results, genotypes viz. BPI 3-2, AS 781, BR 802-78-2-1, BR 4684 and IR 58115 identified superior for normal irrigated environments in terms of grain yield, agronomic and quality traits and have widely been accepted by the farmers. On-farm seed multiplication of these elite lines has been carried out with an objective of wider dissemination and adoption of these improved lines in the potential areas. |
