Two sets ofregional demand driven field experiments i.e. Regional Elite Varietal TrialRainfed
Low land early (REVT-RLE) and Regional Elite Varietal Trial- Normal ~VTN)
were conducted under rain fed environment to select the genotypes of high yield
potentiality, multiple diseases and pest resistant/tolerant in two consecutive years
2002/03 and 2003104 at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Khajura, Nepalgunj.
Genotypes IR 60267-PMI-3-1-3-1 (4. 78 t/ha) IR 70181-32 PMI-1-1-4-2 (4. 77 t/ha) and
IR 55435-05 .(3.93 tlha) were promising in REVT-RLE for early maturity. Whereas for
normal season planting genotypes Vijeta-1001 (4.04 t/ha) and BR 802-78-2-1 (3.66tlha)
were observed outstanding under rain fed condition. The selected genotypes were
tolerant to BLB with 2 to 3 score. The selected genotypes of REvT-RLE were of medium
height with coarse grain except IR 70181-32-PMI-1-1-4-2, which was of fine grain type.
Both the selected genotypes of REVT-N were coarse grain type. Genotype Vijeta-1 001
was dwarf |
