Alternaria blight caused by Alternariabrassicae is the most destructive and wide  spread disease of rapeseed-mustard causing economical loss annually. A field experiment   was conducted for two successive years (1996/97&  1997/1998) at Oilseed Research Program, Nawalpur, to determine the effectiveness of the new fungicide Rovral@   (Iprodion  50 wp) over currently recommended fungicide Di thane@ M-45 (Mancozeb 75wp) in the control of  Alternaria blight in Vikas variety of toria. The  results of the experiment    confirmed the effectiveness  and superiority of  Rovral@    over Dithane@   M-45 (Mancozeb  75wp) to control Alternaria blight and increase seed  yield.Spraying of Rovral@ at   30, 45, and 60 days afte seeding gave 66% higherseedyield over Dlthane@ M-45 (Mancozeb 75wp) sprayedat the same  schedule and 147% higher than controltreatment.
