Abstract: |
Afield experiment 011 potato cultivar Kufri Sindhuri was carried out at Regional Agricultural Research Station Parwanipur Bara during winter seasons of 1998, 1999 and 2000 with all objective to recommelld optimum doses of llitroge11 and potassium fertilizers for maximum yield of potato u11der central Terai of Nepal. The experiment was conducted in factorial randomized complete block design with four levels of nitrogen (0, 50, 100, 150 kglha) and four levels of potash (0, 30, 60 and 90 kg/ha), phosphorus ( 100 kg /ha and compost (20 tlha) remailling constant. The mean yield data indicated that there was all increase in tuber yield with increased level of llitrogen. Similarly, as the potassium level increased there was also significant increase in tuber yield Interaction effect of nitrogen and potassium showed the highest tuber yield (26.35 tlha) with maximum dose of nitrogen ( 150 kg N/ha) and maximum dose of potash (90 kg/ha). Minimum late blight infection (1.44) was observed at zero level of nitrogen. As the rate of potash increased, there was a decrease in late blight infection. |
