Abstract: |
A survey was conducted at four main citrus production pocket areas i.e. Khoku (JOOOm als), Dhankuta municipality ( 1 lOOm als), Mmmabuduk ( 1200m als) and Paripatle of NCRP farm ( 1250 m als), to identify the superior indigenous genotypes of mandarin suitable for mother stock in 2000 and 2001. Total seven vigorous and healthy fruit trees per location were selected and collect matured fruit samples (5 fnlits per trees at different direction) for evaluation. Among them, Khoku trees sample were found superior on the basis of higher fruit weight ( 100.23 g /fruit), higher juice contains (46.37%) and higher total soluble solids (TSS) and titrable acid (TA) ratio ( 19.25) followed by the Dhankuta municipality and Mawzabuduk locations. The fruit sample, collected from NCRP farm was found higher peel percentage (31.9%) and lower pulp (66.4%) as compared to other location. On the basis of fruit sample evaluation, Khoku mandarins were found superior for the collection and preservation of mother plant as compared to the other locations of Dhankuta districts. |
