| Abstract: |
A study was conducted on 266 indigenous hill buffaloes in the research command area (RCA)
of Agricultural Research Station (ARS), Lunzle in four agro-ecological domains viz. High hill
(1600-2300 mas!), Mid hill (1000-1600 m as/), Low hill (600-1000 mas/) and River basin
(240-600 mas/). The study showed that the milk yield of Lime was although marginally higher
than Parkote in river basin and low hill. However, the difference was not significant.
Similarly, no statistical difference was found in respect of reproductive performance traits
(Age at .first service, calving interval, and calving to first service) between the two indigenous
breeds. |
