Abstract: |
D(fferent legume species were tested in the hills qfhigh altitude areas (above 1800_masl.) for their green matter production. Four different legume species viz. Trifolium repens cv. Cook, Trifolium repens cv Tahora, Lotus Pendunculatus cv. Maku were tested in fertilizer applied condition (250 kg DAP/ha) and control (without fertilizer) at Hills Leasehold Forestry areas of the three districts viz. Makwanpur, Kavre and Ramechap. From the data of nvo years production yield, Lotus Pendunculatus cv. Maku produced 10 t/ha bio-mass which was significantly higher (P<O. 05) than Trifolium repens cv. Khumal (5t/ha) and Trifolium repens cv. Tahora (4.5tlha) in average production yield. Similarly the bio-mass production of legume species underfertilizer application was significantly higher (P<O.Ol) than that under controlled condition. An increase in yield under application of fertilizer over the control was 36%, and 46% and 52.3%for Trifolium repens cv. Khumal, Trifolium repens cv. Tahora and Lotus Pendunculatus cv .. Maku respectively. |
