Abstract: |
The cultivation of Horticultural Crops - fruits, vegetables, flowers, mushroom; and bee
keeping; and part processing have continued to play an important role in the alleviating
poverty partially and in patches. In recent years, the contribution of Horticulture in the
reduction of poverty has come to light with the cultivation and marketing of off season
vegetables and others horticultural commodities. Horticulture, the cultivation of potato,
and radish, has continued to play an important role in food security in the mountains
and hills specially high hills. The contribution of Horticulture in the nutritional security
with the continued increased consumption of green vegetables, and seasonal fruits is
being realized with enhancement of knowledge. |
