Abstract:	Out of 270 cows and 65 buffaloes examined for tail gangrene, there were 5 (1.85%) cows and 3 (4.62%) buffaloes positive to the disease. The skin scrapings collected from the affected tail of buffaloes were negative for any mange mites. Histopathological examination of affected tail revealed· severe infiltration of leukocytes, denudation of epidermis and severe necrosis of dermis. Two samples revealed sarcocysts embedded in lungs tissue.
