Abstract: |
Two separate studies were conducted in 1997 and 1998 to investigate the feeding
systems, feeds availability and nutrient content in the available feeds and forages in two
districts of Solukhumbu and Sankhuascibha using formal and informal survey, discussion
and obsen,ation of the study areas. Nutritional analysis was carried out for the feeds and
forages most commonly available in the study areas and collected fil:lring the time of visit.
Major findings have been discussed under the headings. a. Major feeds and forages, b.
Feeding systems, c. Availability of feeds and forages, d. Situation of pastures and grazing
land, e. Nutritive value of the feeds and forages, f Major poisonous plants found in the
study areas, g. Major problems associated with feeds and feeding and, h. Strategies for
improvement. |
